The Onyx Webb series follows the unusual life of Onyx Webb along with a central group of characters in various locations and times. The billionaire Mulvaney family, piano prodigy Juniper Cole and her brother Quinn, paranormal show hosts Cryer and Fudge, and a few others make up the core of the series. Written like a book version of a supernatural soap opera (think: American Horror Story) each character’s story moves forward with most every episode.
It may appear that the characters are entirely unrelated and yet episode by episode, the connections will become clearer. Like being an inch away from a spider web, with each book, the web will move further and further away revealing the full story of every character and most importantly, the stunning conclusion for Onyx Webb herself.
Exclusive interview with the authors:
1) You refer to reading your book like watching a t.v. show, why is that?
Onyx Webb is about a billionaire family, a missing piano prodigy, and the unusual life of Onyx Webb herself, in one web of a supernatural soap opera. Because of all the story lines it is kind of like watching today’s t.v. series – like American Horror Story or House of Cards which have many characters and various plots happening at once.
2) What is your favorite part about writing Onyx Webb?
Our favorite part is creating those OMG moments. We kill off a character at the end of Book Two and we know our readers are going to freak out but that is the point. And it can be painful to lose those characters too!
3) Who is your favorite character to write?
One of our characters is a total diva – Mika Flager, she is Koda Mulvaney’s ex-fiancée and we call her the Socialite of Savannah (think Paris Hilton). So anything with her involved is grand and over the top and it makes her scenes so fun to write.
4) What are some of your literary inspirations?
We take a lot of what we see (movies and tv) and apply it to our writing in terms of story. So that said, we are inspired t.v. series like Bates Motel, House of Cards, Dexter (before it ended!), The Americans, AHS, and so many others. As for writers, Richard loves Lee Child and also Harlan Coben. Andrea’s earliest influence was Judy Blume and V.C. Andrews books, but these days any book off the Oprah Book Club list. We’re also just starting to read more indie author fiction like ourselves.
5) Onyx Webb is described as ‘cross-genre’ what does that mean?
Onyx Webb is a paranormal suspense with a strong side of mystery and a dash of historical fiction. We also have a serial killer and much later, the FBI is involved. So yes, there is something for everyone. But paranormal is the foundation of the whole thing – meaning, ghosts.
