THE MAKING OF A LEGEND…
When Christian Forrester, Viscount Berkeley, flees the stuffy ballrooms of London for his Scottish hunting lodge, the last thing he expects to find ensconced before his fire is an incredibly beautiful woman. But the plight of lovely young Sarah Highgate, who has run away from an unwanted betrothal, inspires an eminently practical exchange. He’ll safeguard her reputation with the ton while she advises him how to best attract a proper bride…
As the undisputed belle of the season, Sarah has enchanted plenty of suitors. Still, she isn’t interested in marriage, especially not to the pompous bore her father has chosen for her. But her hasty escape seems reckless now that she’s estranged from her family and has no one to count on besides Christian. Turning the luckless lord into such a catch has another unplanned consequence for Sarah: Has he run away with her heart?
Exclusive interview with the author:
1) Since becoming a writer, what’s the most exciting thing to ever happen to you?
One of the coolest things that has happened is being on the reality TV show, Say Yes to the Dress, Atlanta. I got married last year and was trying to find a dress and a friend suggested I apply to be on the show. The producers loved the romance-novelist-who-writes-about-brides-and-who-is-a-bride hook. My episode was called By the Book and aired in January 2014. It was really neat to see how the filming of a TV show works.
2) What was your favorite book growing up and why?
I have two favorites. First, Laura Ingalls Wilder’s These Happy Golden Years. I must have read it dozens of times. It was my very first historical romance novel. My other favorite is The Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I absolutely LOVE redemption stories and that is one of the best!
3) What do you hope readers will take away from your books?
I hope readers just have fun when they’re reading my books. There are plenty of awful things happening in the world. I can’t even watch the news any more. I want people who read my books to laugh and enjoy themselves for a few hours. And we could all use a happy ending. That’s why I love romance novels so much.
4) What do you do in your spare time when you’re not writing?
I’m usually playing with my dog, watching something historical on TV, spending time with my family, or reading!
5) What’s up next for you?
I just finished writing the next book in my Playful Brides series. Book #7 will be out in May 2017 and is called Never Trust a Pirate. After that, I’ll be writing three more books in the series for a total of 10 plus a couple of novellas!
